Food allergy

Food allergies occur when the immune system messes up. Your immune system is supposed to protect against disease and germs. If you have a food allergy your immune system makes a mistake and thinks the food is going to hurt.

The answer is the same whether it is an allergy food, drug allergies, allergy to a flower or tree, or an allergy to peanuts. Although the food itself is not dangerous, the body's reaction may have be life threatening.
