Is it possible to outgrow an allergy (or intolerance) to shellfish?
When I was younger, every time I ate seafood my mouth and throat that have itchy, swollen eyes get itchy and my stomach hurt. I have avoided the seafood for many years and yesterday, I decided I could eat a shrimp to see what happened …. I felt good, so I ate like 10 more and still nothing happened. Did you have an intolerance or allergy may be mild and overcame it?
Yes that is absolutely possible. Allergies change every 7 years. My mom developed an allergy to shellfish very serious when he was in his 20s and now (30 years later) finally dared to try again and she is right!
