11 unexpected allergy Causes
Typical causes of allergies such as pollen from trees and grasses are not the only elements that might have to get to the tissues … some unexpected things are likely to have on your home right now also be causes of allergies and cause symptoms of allergy to light.
There are eleven known triggers to watch …
1. Candles – smells of scented candles can inflame your nasal cavities, according to James Wedner, MD, chief allergy and immunology at the School of Medicine, University of Washington. People with allergies are likely to have a runny nose or watery eyes when you near a burning candle. The candles with scents such as pumpkin are usually best tolerated. If you have problems with a candle, try to move away, to put it out or take out the air yourself.
2. Perfumes – has hundreds of chemicals, mostly untested in humans, and when mixed with essential oils in the perfume and sprayed into the air can cause a person sneezes, congestion or feel headache. It is difficult, but ask people around you to go easy on the scents suggest spraying and body creams and lotions as their odors are not as strong. You can also bring a small fan in your office or the car to keep air moving.
3. Soaps and detergents – you may be surprised to learn that most of you feel the itch is caused by a cleaning agent, is actually the fault of a perfume additive. Search "additive", "unscented" or "phthalate-free" on the label. When drying clothes, use a sheet of aluminum foil in the dryer (Instead of static odor leaves) to get rid of static electricity, without the strong odor. You can also try an odor-free dryer sheet no additive.
4. Stuffed animals – you can get full of dust mites, a problem for an estimated 15% of people. You can try to wash (with water of 140 degrees or warmer), dried and then repeat (usually monthly) favorite toys. Toys that can not be washed can be put into a plastic bag in the freezer for a few hours, which will also kill mites. Store toys on a shelf, rather than in bed.
5. Carpet – hot on the feet and feels wonderful, but even if you empty all the time, you still have dust mites. Your best bet if you have a persistent allergy is to remove the carpet and replace it with wood or tile and area rugs use the place. Wash carpets monthly and maintain space humidity below 50%. Dust mites thrive in humid environments.
6. Spices – add taste to your food, but because they come from plants can also put chili on everything from snorting to swelling of the nasal passages, itching and burning of the lips. Avoid problematic including some coriander, poppy seeds, pepper, dill, paprika, cumin and saffron – a often found in India and Middle Eastern dishes. If you are not sure which species are problems, try to write what you eat whenever you have an allergy attack and see if you can find a common theme.
7. Christmas trees – the staple of the holiday is a place where mold grows very fast … especially if the shaft is placed in a bucket of water or soil moisture … a moist, mold likes dark. Many people are allergic or irritated by mold spores. A tree is the wrong answer for many, with pine scented candles always should have "smell." If you must have a real tree, to avoid a court has been weeks in advance as you probably already ripe with mold. Be stingy with water once the tree is at home and keep it for the shortest time possible.
8. wall paint – the solvents and synthetic resins often lead to itchy eyes and headaches, with oil-based paints to be particularly problematic as they continue even after release chemicals to dry. Keep windows open while working, and try to get fresh air circulating in the space for a maximum four weeks after finishing the work. Paints with low VOC send less chemicals in the air, but this is not a guarantee that still will not have problems with them.
9. Alcohol – There is an allergy to alcohol (which is rare), but the grains and additives used to make liquor. Wheat or conservation sulfur dioxide can also cause nasal congestion or a rash. New York allergist Wellington Tichenor, MD also mentions grains such as corn, barley and rye, as well as aromas of fruit that can be problematic too. You can try to drink spirits such as vodka-free grain potatoes, rum or tequila and liqueurs skip flavor. Look for wines labeled "sulfite-free.
10. The buttons in Blue Jeans – are often made of nickel which can be a trigger for eruptions in up to 20% of women. These include itching, redness and sometimes causes blisters and are often treated with topical creams. To avoid these symptoms replace buttons with plastic ones or a layer on the button with clear nail polish, a remedy found to work in a recent study from the University of St. Louis.
11. Lemons and limes – limonene, the compound in spicy lemon and other citrus, leafy watery eyes and a burning sensation in the nose. You might even a skin irritation if you touch, eat or drink products with limonene. Treat any rash with topical hydrocortisone creams and jump the garrison with your drink or salad. Beware lime salad dressings, marinades and desserts.
